i am doing a high-performance project(thesis/homework at University) which is mixed HLA with Python GUI to replace C/C++.
is that allowed by the license? i have checked the license, but it seems like that it did not mention about this situation.

thank you in a big way :D

hla and components directly created by randall hyde are released as public domain.  most of the documentation is also released under the public domain (see specific documentation for details).

the published form of art of assembly is copyrighted and any material used falls under fair use strictures.

hla also inherits the licenses of any associated tools, if such are optionally used, including fasm, masm.  and pelle tools if the polink linker is used.  incidentally, pelle also offers free use of his software, his license follows:

Permission is granted to anyone to use this software for any purpose, including commercial
applications, and to redistribute it freely, subject to the following restrictions:

1. The origin of this software must not be misrepresented; you must not claim that you
wrote the original software.
2. Including Pelles C in a CDROM or in other products sold for profit needs explicit
agreement from the author.
3. This notice may not be removed or altered from any distribution.

if you wish to use hide, it also has a specific license which pretty mush grants you anything you want to do with it except repackage it under a different license.

thank you very much.
i had thought that the license does not allow me to use it on my thesis project.
