SzCpy vs. lstrcpy

Could the routine used at compile time be dependent on the aligning of the data structures? Say we made a macro called szCopy which would choose between a general-purpose and custom algorithm(s) at compile-time. If the data is not aligned then a default byte-wise copy algorithm is used, whereas if the coder aligned all called datatypes to DWORD offsets, then an MMX routine would be used instead? Just an idle thought, I know very little about macro capability. :red
