Since the other guy started the picnic thread, i'll start this one, partly because i'm curious. Considering this forum consists of a vase range of cultures, stemming around the world, with wide age groups, who've experienced different things, name 1 or a couple of your favorite/common dishes, and maybe a brief description on how you personally make it, so I can pass off the info the misses.Pictures are a  :U

Here's one of my favorites

it's real easy you cook, you throw down some alumium foil on a pan, put the chicken on it(usually dark side facing down), then dump the shake and bake on the top. Put a piece of aluminum foil over the chicken, then cook on 375 for a hour, perfect :D

i guess my fave is dungeness crab
just bake it in it's own shell
a little white wine
strawberry shortcake for desert

a good bone-in rib-eye steak is always good, too   :U

damn those are some big craps, craps are definitely good  :U, my favorite are snow crab legs, don't know if you ever had em, but they're like creame of the crop I think.

i have had snow crabs and king crabs
dungeness are the best - sweet and tender
that bucket would feed a small army - lol
2 or 3 is plenty per person

one time, when i was about 12 - we went to visit my cousins on the coast of North Carolina
my uncle and dad went out early in the morning with rods and reels
they were using shrimp as bait - fishing for crab - caught zilch - lol
my younger cousin and i were playing near a salt-water inland river
there was a busted up old dock
i noticed a crab in the water - he paused under the dock - then kept going
in a minute - there was another - and another - they were going inland to spawn, i think
we ran up to the house
i got a piece of string and a large nut (as in nuts and bolts)
i tied the nut to the end of the string and we grabbed a bucket
back to the dock - every time a crab went under the dock - i would gently bop him on the shell with that nut
they would swing at it with their claw - i would pull it away and tease them a little - lol
then - i bop em once more - and this time - let them grab the string
flop them up onto shore - my cousin ripped off the pinchers and tossed them into the bucket
in 30 minutes, i had 10 crab - lol
mmmmmmmmmmmm - they were delicious

on the same trip - the 4 of us went out very early the one morning
we had wading boots, lights and gigs - looking for flounder on the same river
we walked and walked - finally came across one - and gigged it
on the end of the gig - a long piece of rope so we could drag the flounder behind and keep them in the water
we continued on walking and walking - no more flounder
we were about to give up - then saw a second one
gigged it - slide it back up the gig onto the rope
we went a little further and decided 2 was plenty
we got to the shore - pulled the rope up - and there is only one flounder !!!!
how in the hell did he get off the rope ?
well - we untied the one we had - come to find out - we gigged the same flounder twice - lol
2 holes - and the rope went through him twice - lol
he apparently had a spurt of life left and jetted up ahead of us
oh well - flounder are huge
with that flounder and the 10 crabs - we had a great feast
