Learning HLA

Hello, I'm Codec, and I'm new here to the MASM forums.  Well, my question is, how do I get started learning HLA?  Here's my current situation:

I downloaded the latest HLA, HIDE, and AoA HTML.  However, in AoA, the Figures don't show up for some reason.  Also, it gives directions which are obviously outdated.  What should I do?
